Our Mrs. Wishy Washy and Farm Animals

Pictured above Mrs. Wishy Washy story characters I made
for our homeschool as we read "Mrs. Wishy Washy" this week!

This week we began our farm theme. We are doing book activities from two books: "Mrs. Wishy Washy" and "Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm." Next week we are reading the Little Red Hen. I picked up some other books which you can see on our right side bar which lists what we'll be reading for the next two weeks from September 28th to October 9th.

Well, our public library does not have a copy of the book Mrs. Wishy Washy so I had to improvise! (something us moms can be good at when confronted with these situations). I was blessed to find a video of Mrs. Wishy Washy read by a little girl so I used her reading as a basis for our Flannel Story. I jotted down the lines for our story. It is a very simple story that toddlers and preschoolers can understand and follow.

I thought about doing water color paintings of Mrs. Wishy Washy but instead I created my own blacklines free handed with my Sharpie pen and I scanned each drawing to upload into a PDF file. I then uploaded that file to Scribd where I have most of my preschool printables that I created. There you can download and print your own Mrs. Wishy Washy blacklines for your homeschooling or class.

Just click on the thumbnail of Mrs. Wishy Washy below and you can download the free four page PDF for your children.

The blacklines were created by me for the use with the book series “Mrs. Wishy Washy” by Joy Crowley and illustrated by Elizabeth Fuller. There are four pages (one of which provides ideas for use) The three pages can be used as flannel story characters, for shared reading as paper puppets or for child play. Simply print out my drawings (black lines) then color and cut out. You can glue them to construction paper or card stock and laminate to make more sturdy.
I water colored our blacklines printables of Mrs. Wishy Washy since I felt it would stand out more. The boys are coloring their pages to cut out and glue to craft sticks as puppets to act out the story.

I hope you enjoy the FREE gift of the Mrs. Wishy Washy blacklines I created.

You are really talented - those drawings are great. I was looking for this book too, but so far no luck in our library either.

Our library did have a copy of "Mrs. Wishy Washy's farm" so we read that.
